THURSDAY ART ADDITIONS.......TEA TIME!

Just a few little tea party themed images I did this week for you today-plus I'm doing some different things this week on AF and today is no different. So-I'm posting some other tea party art things I've come across this week from other artists. I've been only posting my own art on Thursdays but I thought why not share the love sometimes-especially when I have a busy week and need to work on other stuff!

So-I'm including an illustration with digital coloring layered on an actual painting I did that also has been digitally edited-you may remember it-I'll post it too-whew-you got that-lol

also posting a little drawing I did of some tea cups with a digital edit and a new girls ABC print that went into my Etsy shop this week.

WEDNESDAY ETSY ARTIST FINDS....TEA PARTY

OK-So sorry I didn't post my little DIY rehab tea set yesterday-I'm still working on it actually-lol I know I'm such a slacker! I'll TRY and post it this week sometime. Just been crazy busy around here lately! I've been so excited for the springtime and green that I forgot I'd have to start cutting the grass again!

Anyways, It's Etsy day once again and I did it a bit different this week-more like a round up of items rather than multiple items from each shop. Don't worry-I'm still gonna focus on the shops just gonna throw a round-up like this in once in a while too! Plus I found a shop I love and had to share.

MONDAY INSPIRATIONS.... GIRL TIME TEA PARTY

I'm always talking about boy stuff on my blog because I'm surrounded by boys here at home! But who doesn't love to be a little girl at heart and have a little tea time?


It's easy to send the boys out to tumble in the yard and have a princess party with just the girls. Of 10 kids there are only 2 girls on our side of the family. Their "mimi" aka Grandma-always throws them a special party she calls the "Nellie-Belle Party"-it's really cute. They dress up, bring their dolls and have lots of chocolate confections.

 This week will be all about the ultimate in girlie-ness-the Tea Party! So put on something pretty, pick some flowers, bring your daughter and her dolly for some pre-Summer outdoor tea party time...

THURSDAY ART ADDITIONS....FOR THE BOYS

Well it's time for a look at what I've been working on this week-plus I'm posting a couple of other pieces of my artwork that are relevant to my "boys" theme.

 I had ALOT of input from my boys this time-big and small-who knew?
Ezzie (4 years old) wanted orange everything-of course! Roo-Roo (15 months old ) just loved the dirtbike print. It was really funny-I had it in a frame and was showing him (at his request) and he was going "vroom vroom" and making the hand motion of throttling a dirtbike-what can I say it runs in their blood-on their daddy's side! Emm (Husband) even got in on it-he was like " the dirtbike needs to be orange with black hubs, and you need to put 927 on it cause' that's Ezzie's number and you should do one with that big Jeep Willy's and you need to......." Normally there is no input-even when I ask! hahaha.

 I had a blast with this material-I foresee more boy stuff in the future and also-look for some of these designs soon in my ETSY shop when I get them perfected.

ETSY ARTIST FINDS...BOY STUFF

Well it's ETSY time once again! I've trolled around and found some cute BOY-ish things for the little men in our lives...



nJoy Art- Nicola Joyner is a graphic designer from Maine who loves painting. She quit her day job to be home with her two kids and now sells some of her cute kid inspired paintings on ETSY-Custom orders are always welcome...

MY WALL STICKERS: I love wall decals-they are so cute to me and (seemingly) easy to put up! This fun shop in Hixson TN located just outside Chattanooga, has boy and girl selections. Their decals are reposition-able and made with SAFE-Cling fabric material. The textures look wonderful! This husband and wife duo run 2 other ETSY shops as well-My Wall Stencils and My Wonderful Walls-Check em' out...

The Old Red Barn- This Albany Oregon shop goes green by using old throw-aways for some of the materials that make up his clocks, purses, buckles and other stuff. I think the clocks look cool for a boys room and they received the husband-walk-by-stamp of coolness approval! I think your guys will dig it too...have a look!

Dress Baby Beautiful- This Jacksonville mom of four (yes four) still has time to sew-She must be super for sure! She stays home with her 3 boys and brand new girl and as a hobby, makes cute clothes for little people. Her customizable boy aprons make me smile! These are always made with girls in mind-but I know my boys like cookies too! I like these....see for yourself...

TUESDAY ANYTHING GOES...SPOONFLOWER POWER

HAVE YOU DISCOVERED SPOONFLOWER?

I had seen mention of this great site in other places, but didn't really know what it was. For those of you who haven't heard-it's a wonderful custom fabric site. When browsing through a million things looking for cool boy stuff I determined I'd have to find some fabrics and make a duvet and pillows for the boys room and maybe some curtains. This all is a long way off-but I'm in research mode. So I happened upon SPOONFLOWER-the ultimate in customization. They offer tons of user generated fabrics as well as an opportunity for you to upload your OWN images and create fabric from it! SO COOL! They have weekly themed fabric contests that you can vote on, and if you are so inclined contribute to. FUN!

So if you are struggling with the selection at Joann's--head over to Spoonflower and have a look. It's alot of eye candy too-totally inspiring to pattern junkies like me! The prices are decent too-I mean it IS custom!!!

MONDAY INSPIRATIONS...FOR THE BOYS

I've been needing to think about a cohesive design theme for the boys room. It's slightly difficult because one is a baby ( just 1) and the other is 4 and 1/2-cribs and big boy stuff-hmmm.

 The problem is that boy stuff tends to look a bit babyish to me sometimes and the older one-Ezzie has design preferences-I know right?-he's 4! He LOVES orange-which is cool. He loves dirt bikes and Supercross-particularly the KTM's (orange and black) so I'm treading a fine line here trying not to have a Halloween nightmare going on in there 365 days a year!

I'm probably-no not probably, definitely going to have to do some sort of custom prints with dirt bikes and stuff for him in there. I think I might have to make the bedding too-:) I feel like there are soooo many cute girl things out there that you just see a whole room and buy everything in it! But for me with my boys-it's going to have to be a collected look. I'm liking the grey, white, orange thing right now with a hint of black...here's what I came up with for the boys...

ANYTHING GOES TUESDAY STUFF FOR BOYS...

PRETTY MOTHER'S DAY DECORATING IDEAS...

Mother's Day is almost here! I'm posting some kid friendly DIY ideas for having a pretty mother's day full of relaxation, family time and cherished memories. Today is also my birthday, so I'm looking forward to the weekend for sure. Tonite it's grilled pizzas-one of my faves-compliments of my awesome Sister-in-Law-she's a great cook and friend! Tomorrow it's baseball games and a trip to Mom and Dad's and Sunday a Mother's Day brunch of some sort! Sounds good to me!
